I am so nervous.....

I am so incredibly nervous... In about an hour I will be interviewing for a position that I never thought I would ever be considered for. One of the largest companies in our area ~ what an honor to be given the chance to interview.... I am overwhelmed at how great my God is!!! He is so faithful to us ~ even when we don't deserve it! I feel like I have been on a huge faith walk these last few weeks.... I've gotten nervous & wanted to back out, but I keep pushing myself forward thinking what if God is trying to open a door of blessing & my fearfullness keeps me from walking through.... I wish that I could say that I am "Super Fatih Girl" and that I run through all doors that God opens... but I'm human ~ and well... I tend to proceed with caution.... Even if I don't get this job, I have learned so much lately about myself, & God. I've learned that as long as I follow Him & seek His face then the things that can open up to me our endless. Things that I could never imagine... He is truly able to do 'exceedingly & abundantly above all that we could ask or think!'

Well I better get off of here... The minutes are SLOWLY ticking away!

Update .... I found out today that the position has not been filled yet!!!! So I'm still excited! I have to admit though I was a lil bummed when I hadn't heard anything. But it's in God's hands ~ not my will but HIS be done!!!! I enjoy where I'm working @ right now & that is a huge blessing in itself ~ but our family could really use the financial boost ~ please help us pray!

If Heaven Wasn't so far away... for you daddy

Title: If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away
Artist: Rhett Akins
Album: People Like Me

Every day I drive to work across Flint River bridge
One hundred yards from the spot where me and grandpa fished
There's a piece of his old fruit stand on the side of Sawmill Road
He'd be there peelin' peaches if it was twenty years ago
What I wouldn't give to ride around in that old truck with him

If heaven wasn't so far away
I'd pack up the kids and go for the day
Introduce them to their grandpa
Watch em laugh at the way he talks
I'd find my long lost cousin John
The one we left back in Vietnam
Show him a picture of his daughter now
She's a doctor and he'd be proud
Then tell him we'd be back in a couple of days
In the rear view mirror we'd all watch him wave
And losing them wouldn't be so hard to take
If heaven wasn't so far away

I'd hug all three of those girls we lost from the class of '89
And I'd find my bird dog Bo and take him hunting one more time
I'd ask Hank why he took those pills back in '53
And Janis to sing the second verse of "Me and Bobby McGee"
Sit on a could and visit for a while
It'd do me good just to see them smile

If heaven wasn't so far away
I'd pack up the kids and go for the day
Introduce them to their grandpa
Watch em laugh at the way he talks
I'd find my long lost cousin John
The one we left back in Vietnam
Show him a picture of his daughter now
She's a doctor and he'd be proud
Then tell him we'd be back in a couple of days
In the rear view mirror we'd all watch him wave
And losing them wouldn't be so hard to take
If heaven wasn't so far, if heaven wasn't so far
If heaven wasn't so far away

So far away
So far away

Drew & Ry's Halloween Costume Contest 2006

Old myspace blog....

For those of you that know me, you know that I have a sickness when it comes to Halloween Costume Contest. I can't help myself, I make plans all year long & try my best to keep it under wraps because I LOVE the element of surprise. When we walk in & Drew & Ryleigh are all costumed up, everyone is going, "I know you didn't ~ they are TOO cute" ~ I LOVE it ~ EVERY minute of it!!!!

Now, I must admit, we have had some pretty interesting costumes over the past few years...
Drew's 1st costume contest (@ 8 months old), we dressed him up as a Lil Slugger & pulled him around in a wagon which I made into his "dugout" ~ that was precious....

Then his 2nd costume contest (@ 20 months) he was Elvis ~ now this BY FAR has been my favorite so far. Personally in my mind I don't think I will ever top the Elvis year, but it's mighty fun trying ~ he was so cute in his little jumpsuit, sprayed his hair black & gave his side burns + gave him his little black microphone & he was set. That year is what kind of started my costume obsession I think, because when we walked into the Fall Festival & everyone saw him as Elvis, they began to scream & point, grandparents were stoping him to tell him how cute he was. I STILL have people that will come up to me in Walmart & say something about Drew being Elvis @ Halloween. We took him to mom's line dancing club that year after the festival was over & of course everyone there got such a kick out of him ~ he danced around with his little black microphone ~ mom says they still have his picture up at the dance, and everyone still makes comments about that costume!!!

Sorry Drew, I had to do it!!!

Then last year (Drew's 3rd costume contest @ 2 years old & Ry's 1st @ 2 weeks old) we dressed them up as Raggedy Ann & Andy... That was fun ~ I made her costume the whole time I was pregnant it seemed ~ well the last few months anyway ~ so she had a costume before she was even born!!! (I told you ~ I have a sickness) They were so precious with the little red noses & cheeks ~ I'll have to add a picture ~ can't seem to find one on my work computer though.... but I promise to add this evening!

Well, this year I had planned for them to go as Pebbles & Bam Bam ~ Aaron & I were going to be Fred & Wilma ~ Dwanye & Shenia (Aaron's parents) were going to be Barney & Betty. I ordered the costume pattern & never received it, so I had to do a quick change of plans. This year they went as Alfalfa & Darla (Drew loves the "Little Rascals" movie).

Here's Alfalfa all ready to go....

His hair stayed up the ENTIRE time ~ and then even late into the evening ~ I refrained from coming straight home & washing it, hoping he would "wear out" some of the hair spray that we used to get his hair to stand up. He almost broke the streamers walking under them to play games @ the Fall Festival because his twig of hair was so hard!!!

Here's little Darla getting all "dolled up" ~ THANK YOU Janie!!!!

The cool part is a lot of those curls are her own ~ just a few curlers on the top to make it poof up some!!! Your SO beautiful Ryleigh!!!!!

Alfalfa & Darla.... AWE!!!!!!!!!!!

This year I had planned on not letting them participate in the costume contest ~ I feel horrible. Drew has won the costume contest the last 3 years in a row, so I was REALLY not wanting to put him in the contest, PLUS I helped re-vamp the contest to where there is more than one winner per category ~ we know have a Judge's Choice & a People's Choice!!!! So I didn't feel right about letting my kids participate when I'm the one that "created" the new judging part of the event. Aaron & I had MANY "discussions" concerning this issue, because Aaron LOVES to put them in the contest (although he is NEVER the one that helps come up with the costume ideas). We had both agreed to not put them in the contest, just dress them up for the fun of it ~ because that is what it has ALWAYS been to us anyway ~ FUN!

Anyway ~ we get to the Fall Festival, and we have strangers coming up to us asking what # they were in the contest, because they wanted to vote for them ~ of course Aaron gave me the 'I told you so' look ~ I couldn't help it, caved in ~ and let Aaron enter them in the contest....

Drew ended up winning the People's Choice award with 260 votes making it his 4th win. I once again feel bad because Ry didn't win, but she did get quite a few votes herself ~ you GO GIRL!

Plus, I really hope that people don't think that I participate in these events because of the contest part of it. I'm pretty sure that those of you that know me KNOW I'm not that way. I can't figure out what the fun would be in that???? The shock & look on everyone's face to see what Drew & Ry are dressed up like is PRICELESS to me!!! I LOVE IT!!!

Congratulations Drew on your 4th costume contest win (your on a row) and you too Ry ~ you are precious as always!!!!

AND ~ I must confess that I can't wait to get started on next years costumes..... STILL trying to out-do the Elvis year... Can it be done???? Well we'll just have to wait & see..... the sickness continues!!!

Who would have thought spending $50,000 would be so difficult?

Old myspace blog dated 10.11.06

Well, I'm sure most of you know that we have moved into our new youth building @ church. It's not quite finished ~ but we're getting there.....

We moved in Wed Sept 27th ~ even though there were still areas that were under construction. We just simply decided to start where we were with what we got. On Thursday Sept 28th ~ a man called Pastor Dwayne & told him he was sending a check for $50,000 for us to finish the building.

This miracle brought about so many emotions! 1st off I was surprised ~ kind of taken back & wondering if I had heard Pastor Dwayne correctly. 2nd tears of joy that I could not control flooded by eyes ~ 3 years we have been working diligently on seeing this project completed & now an end was in sight; plus once again I was given the chance to see how BIG my God really is & that He is always in control ~ NO MATTER WHAT! 3rd a feeling of ~ ok.... we have the funds know, where do we start????

Well, we've started purchasing the items that we have had on a wish list & it seems so surreal ~ for so long we've had this list that seemed a mile long & it seemed to take SO long to mark 1 thing off the list. It felt so overwhelmingly impossible & I have silently prayed so many times for God to help my not feel overwhelmed being the "list holder". You see, at the bottom of our list was a "Total" and that "total" was $56,959.

With 1 one call ~ our whole world changed ~ that is how AWESOME God is ~ He can change things in a split second. When in all honestly I felt that we had still another good 2 years ahead of us of trying to come up with the funds for most of these "big" ticket items.

We immediately compiled a "budget" list ~ for those of you that know me ~ you KNOW I'm going to squeeze as much out of this $50,000 as possible! I can't help it ~ I know "to whom much is given, much is required"! So being frugial with the funds is essential.

I have to say that the youth staff have worked hard with being good stewarts of the funds. It seems like this $50,000 has given us all a renewed since of hope in seeing this building completed ~ PLUS it has seemed to unite us once more to finish this building & begin redirecting the future of our community one youth @ a time!!!!

Lastly.... I must share what God shared with me...
I woke on Friday Sept 29th at 3:00 am ~ I couldn't sleep ~ with all the wonderful news about the funds coming in ~ my mind was racing ~ I had to get up & spend some time talking to God.

I found a quite spot in the house & just set down & began to tell God that I didn't know how to say Thank You ~ I mean those 2 simple words didn't sum up the gratitude that I felt toward Him for once again providing a way when it seemed to be NO way!

After I finished speaking, I seat & simply listened to what HE had to say to me. The scripture was brought to my mind of "to whom much is given, much is required". This made me a little nervous ~ but He continued ~ reminding me of the Parable of the Talents & how the 2 servants that took the money given to them & put it to work ~ they ended up bringing more money back to the master ~ my heart began to leap because I knew that He was telling me as we begin to spend the money & look for the best prices ~ the money will "grow" and we will be able to cover more ground then we could ever imagine or think.

He reminded me that it is not the time to grow slack. No, now is the time more so than ever to continue doing our part. Both financially & physically ~ He has proven that He is ABLE, now it's our turn to prove that we are FAITHFUL!

I told Him I wanted to give out of Aaron & my need ~ money is not something that we have just sitting around the house right now. Actually our finance has been a concern to both of us for quite sometime & I told God that I wanted to "sow" out of our need ~ to remind my physical man that God is able & we will continue to put our trust in Him for our family to once again be living in freedom from financial distress.

No more did I get those words out of my mouth when He dropped an amount into my mind of what I should give ~ now ~ I'm not going to name the amount, but I will say that while it may not be a sacrifice to some, it was a sacrifice to US, but it wasn't even a fraction of the amount this kind gentlemen had already given.

He hushed me with these simple words... "You sow out of your NEED ~ $5 is the same as $50,000 to God. He only looks at the SOURCE of the funds ~ not the AMOUNT!
With that I resolved to talk to Aaron & commit to pledge this amount to our church.
God reminded me once more that $50,000 will grow if we are frugal.

He brought back to my rememberance 2 scriptures then that Aaron & I are standing on for our blessing & for the continual blessing of the youth building...."My God show supply all my needs according to HIS riches & HIS glory""He desires to bless us exceedingly & abundantly above all that we could ask or think."

Lastly... He told me that we thank Him for this blessing by continuing to be faithfulness. Our faithfulness is our THANK YOU!!!!

I truly hope this helps encourage everyone that reads this blog ~ God is not just ABLE ~ He is FAITHFUL to those who serve Him & desire to do His WILL!

God Bless!

Tracey & I have figured it out!!!

This is another old myspace blog dated 10.10.06

Ok, so I'm reading the news today & come across the article on yahoo about last years runaway bride suing her ex-fiance for $500,000. This OF COURSE sparks my interest so open the article to read.

Now I KNOW we all remember when this happened ~ how could you not ~ everyone is desperately looking for this lady who had vanished just day's before it was time to tie the knot with the soon to be hubby. Then she was apparently found & reported to have been kidnapped & raped ~ which turned out to be false. What did she get for causing such hysteria among her family, friends & community???? COMMUNITY SERVICE!!!! That's right ~ COMMUNITY SERVICE!!!!

Well, know runaway bride chick is suing her ex-fiance for $500,000 that they reportedly received by saying their story. Ex-fiance takes the money & buys a $250,000 home while she is locked away in the crazy house. I can't figure out why this chick feels like she can get $500,000 out of the ex-fiance ~ I can see selling the house & splitting the money ~ but come on, it was HIS freakin story too.... So, if I were the judge I would rule ~ $250,000 max to her!

Soooooo..... with the hysteria that I have been personally dealing with in my daily life lately, my little wheels start turning. Tracey & I start chatting & this is what we have decided......

Tracey & I are going to run away & be runaway moms .... we both have good reasons.... she has her husband's crazy ex-wife saga & i have ...... well we better just leave that to those that know ~ but trust me I a GREAT reason for being a runaway myself....

So, on to the plot ~ we are going to be runaway moms & stay gone for a while ... every one around here will be so frantically looking for us ~ we hope ~ and then we will gain national recognition .... we will magically return ~ and then sale our stories for $500,000 EACH!!!!!

We will gladly spend our time in the crazy home ~ where we are sure to get along with the other resendence. Then we will start our community service ~ and collect our $$$!!!! WHOO HOO!!!!

You know.... 2nd thoughts.... our husbands are likely to get together & agree to keep us in the crazy home & collect all the $$$ for themselves.... so maybe our little "plan" needs some more details worked out!

I know, I know ~ should have done present's 1st, but I wasn't thinking didn't think she would get SO IN to the cake ~ Drew was so nice & clean with his & I guess I just assumed she would be the same ~ but BOY did she fool me!!!!And yes.... all the other kids enjoyed the cake too ~ just not AS much.....
